A stock exchange is an element of market infrastructure that organizes exchange trading in securities and other financial instruments. The exchange ensures that trading between issuers, investors and investment intermediaries is carried out in a transparent, fair and competitive environment in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
RSE "Toshkent" organizes exchange trading in shares and corporate bonds.
Shares are divided into ordinary and preferred shares and represent a stake in the charter capital of a joint-stock company.
Corporate bonds, in turn, are securities certifying a debt obligation of the issuer and grant the investor the right to receive coupon income on the terms established.
Exchange trading is carried out through the electronic trading system Fondbozori.uz via licensed investment intermediaries (brokers). The investor submits an order to buy or sell securities to the investment intermediary, and the broker places this order in the exchange's trading system. Transactions are executed in accordance with the applicable legislation and the exchange trading rules.
The list of investment intermediaries (brokers), together with their contact details and addresses, is available via the corresponding link on the exchange's website.
To start trading on the stock exchange, an investor must first select a licensed investment intermediary (broker) and enter into a brokerage services agreement with it. A brokerage account is then opened, and once it is funded, the investor may carry out purchase and sale transactions in securities through the Fondbozori.uz trading platform.
Individuals may purchase shares and bonds through licensed investment intermediaries. This requires opening a brokerage account, completing the identity verification procedure, and depositing funds into the account.
The legislation does not establish a minimum amount of funds for investing on the stock exchange. The volume of investment depends on the market price of the chosen security and the terms of service of the investment intermediary. Accordingly, an investor may begin investment activity based on their own financial capacity.
The list of licensed investment intermediaries is published in the "Exchange Members" section of the official website of RSE "Toshkent", as well as on the official website of the National Agency for Prospective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Trading sessions at RSE "Toshkent" are held from Monday to Friday.
Acceptance of orders (applications) from participants in the trading system begins at 09:30. The trading process is carried out in accordance with the established procedure and closes at 16:00. Detailed information on the trading session schedule, trading stages and hours of operation is available in the "Trading Schedule" section of the exchange's official website.
A share is a security certifying a stake in the charter capital of a joint-stock company, granting its holder the right to receive dividends and to participate in the management of the company.
A bond, in turn, is a security certifying a debt obligation of the issuer to the investor, granting the investor the right to the repayment of the principal amount on the established date and to the receipt of coupon income.
Income on shares may be generated through dividends and growth in the market price of the share. Income on bonds is generated mainly through coupon payments.
A dividend is income distributed to shareholders out of the net profit of a joint-stock company. The decision to pay dividends is adopted by the general meeting of shareholders. The amount of the dividend and the procedure and timing of payment are established by that decision and implemented in accordance with the requirements of the applicable legislation.
