"Capital Market in Uzbekistan: Risks and Opportunities", organized by Kursiv Uzbekistan (https://www.linkedin.com/company/kursiv-uzbekistan/). He noted work done by the exchange to
improve capital market infrastructure and enable local retail investors’ access to its trading platform via Jett.uz (http://jett.uz/) mobile app. New mobile app led to a significant increase in number of trades executed daily since the beginning of the year and helped improve financial literacy of Uzbek citizens interested in investing in securities.

George Paresishvili emphasized importance of privatisation of state-owned companies and banks and conducting successful IPOs to ensure continuation of foreign portfolio investments in Uzbekistan. He mentioned several examples of successful local IPOs executed lately in frontier and emerging markets and spoke of various risks and challenges associated with the process.
