On March 20, 2024, George Paresishvili, the CEO of the Republican Stock Exchange "Toshkent" (RSE) met with Manas Gizhduaniev, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Center for Green Finance of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), and Daniyar Kelbetov, the Chief Product Officer of the AIFC Authority.

During the meeting, parties focused on green finance, discussing global practices and cases for the issuance of green bonds on various exchanges. Plans for further implementation of this initiative in the Uzbek capital market were outlined, which could contribute to the emergence of green bonds in the local market.

It is worth noting that on October 26, 2023, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Republican Stock Exchange "Toshkent", Astana International Exchange and AIFC Center for Green Finance, opening the way for mutual cooperation.

During the meeting, AIFC representatives expressed their willingness to facilitate the development of a new green framework, including ESG, in the Uzbek capital market, as well as conduct training in Tashkent for local specialists. The CEO of the RSE  George Paresishvili supported this initiative and expressed RSE’s readiness to cooperate with AIFC in the area of green finance.
