The Republican Stock Exchange "Toshkent" hosted a meeting with a delegation of international investment institutions led by WOOD & Company, one of the leading investment banks in Central and Eastern Europe.
The delegation included representatives of prominent international investment firms, including Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Lazard, Artisan Partners LP, Wexford Capital, Prospe Capital Management, as well as several other major investment organizations.
During the meeting, participants discussed the current state and future prospects of Uzbekistan’s capital market, as well as issues related to expanding the participation of foreign institutional investors and attracting international capital.
The parties exchanged views on the current activity of foreign investors in the capital market, investor onboarding and registration procedures, as well as capital repatriation and currency conversion practices.
Particular attention was paid to the development of market infrastructure, the enhancement of clearing and settlement mechanisms, the expansion of cooperation with global custodians, and the creation of a favorable and competitive investment environment for institutional investors.
In addition, the participants discussed strategic priorities for 2026–2028 aimed at broadening the foreign investor base, increasing institutional capital inflows, advancing digital transformation, and enhancing market transparency.
The meeting also covered initiatives focused on further developing market infrastructure, improving the investment climate, and increasing the accessibility of Uzbekistan’s capital market for international participants.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in maintaining an active dialogue aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s capital market, expanding international investor participation, and fostering long-term cooperation.
